I was correct that I would not get as much work done this week, however I would consider this week to be significant progress anyway. This week, I have 48 rows completed, which means I have completed 14 rows this week. This fulfills my goal of finishing 10-15 rows a week, which I think will be good progress throughout this project and should set me on track to finish this blanket soon so I can begin the next one. As long as I am able to keep the current pace I am working at up, I am confident that I can finish this blanket and begin the next.
One challenge that I have encountered in this week of working is having to undo rows. This has to happen if I make a mistake while working stitches, as there is no way to correct it unless I completely undo my progress and redo the mistake. By "mistake", I mean if I accidentally skip a stitch or work more than one stitch into one double crochet by accident. These mistakes are much harder to notice using yarn like this, since it is much thicker and denser. This has cost me a few rows of progress, and I have had to undo a few rows twice now. However, because of this I have developed a better habit of counting my stitches as I work. I always count twelve stitches of each kind (front-post double crochet and back-post double crochet) before I switch stitches. I have to say I am very happy with how the blanket is progressing so far. Because the blanket is progressing well, I can tell it will be much heavier and warmer than expected. I expect that the final prouduct will only be used in the winter when it gets cold. I am looking forward to starting the second blanket, and I plan to order the yarn next week or the week after that.

This week, I purchased the yarn for my project and managed to get a solid start to my blanket. I have been working rows on the blanket whenever I get a chance. I had not planned for this, but because my blanket is working up much more quickly than I thought, I have established an idea for a second blanket which I will elaborate more on once the first is finished. It involves entirely different methods of crochet than the first blanket I am making, and I will need to buy a different type of yarn to this. This section requires basic knowledge of crochet to understand, but I have decided to include the information regardless. I am using Bernat's Velvet Plus yarn, and so far I have purchased 10 skeins, but I am fairly sure I will need to purchase more if I want to achieve a decent size. I began my blanket with 64 chains, and am using a basketweave stitch which is 12 stitches wide and 10 rows high. The blanket will likely be around 70-80 rows. The rows will be in a multiple of 10 since each square on the blanket is 10 rows high. Currently, I have used roughly 6 skeins and have completed 34 rows. My goal is to complete at least 15-20 rows per week. I also want to make a graph by the time I complete this blanket to demonstrate my progress over the weeks. However, I will not be able to make as much progress in the coming weeks as I have this week as I started before the project technically began and I may not have as much free time as I did this week. Added below is a picture of the yarn I have remaining and two pictures of the blanket draped over a chair.
